Jaguars Release DB Jeron Johnson From IR

The Jacksonville Jaguars released DB Jeron Johnson from injured reserve with an injury settlement on Friday.

Johnson, 28, wound up signing on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Boise State back in 2011. He spent four years in Seattle before signing a two-year, $2.5 million with the Redskins in 2015.

Washington elected to cut him loose after one season and Johnson later signed on with the Chiefs in August of last year. Unfortunately, Johnson among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason and it took until December for him to catch with the Seahawks.

The Jaguars signed Johnson to a contract a month ago before placing him on injured reserve last week.

In 2016, Johnson appeared in four games and recorded five tackles and no interceptions.

We had him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
