Jaguars Release LB Russell Allen, DE Will Pericak, DE D’Aundre Reed & WR Jabin Sambrano

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Thursday that they have released LB Russell Allen and waived DE Will Pericak, DE D’Aundre Reed and WR Jabin Sambrano, per Tad Dickman.

  • According to Brian McIntyre, the Jaguars will save $2 million in cash and close to $2.5 million in cap space by releasing Russell Allen.

Allen, 27, signed with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of San Diego State back in 2009. Last year, he was placed on season-ending injured reserve with a concussion.

He had one year remaining on his three-year, $6 million contract.

Pericak, 24, was an undrafted free agent of Colorado who originally signed with the Ravens last year. He would bounce around a bit before signing with Jacksonville in December of last year.

Reed, 26, was a seventh-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings back in 2011. Like Pericak, he too was signed to the Jaguars’ practice squad last December.

Sambrano, 24, signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Montana back in 2012. He was signed to the Jaguars practice in December of last year, but managed to be activated towards the end of the season.
