Jaguars Release NT Roy Miller, Pick Up $3.96M Of Cap Space

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Sunday that they’ve released veteran NT Roy Miller.

Miller, 29, is a former third-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2009. He spent four years in Tampa Bay before signing on with the Jaguars in 2013.

Miller was in the fourth year of his five-year, $18.63 million contract that included $1.975 million guaranteed and was set to make a base salary of $3,637,500 for the 2017 season.

According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Miller will free up $3,962,500 of available cap space while creating $200,000 in dead money.

In 2016, Miller appeared in six games and recorded 10 tackles and no sacks for the Jaguars. Pro Football Focus has him down for playing 156 total snaps last season.
