Jaguars Release OL Will Rackley, FB Shaun Chapas & WR Jeremy Ebert

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced that they have signed 17 undrafted free agents on Monday, including Miami QB Stephen Morris.

However, according to Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times Union, the Jaguars also released veteran OL Will Rackley and WR Jeremy Ebert.

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that the Jaguars also released FB Shaun Chapas on Monday.

Rackley, 24, was a third-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2011. He still had one year remaining on his rookie contract and was set to make $772,401 for the 2014 season.

Last year, he appeared in 11 games at left guard for Jacksonville, but struggled mightily. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 79 guard out of 81 qualifying players last year. According to PFF’s rating, Rackley was equally ineffective at both run and pass-blocking.

Ebert, 25, appeared in five games for the Jaguars last year and caught three passes for 18 yards. He still had one year remaining on his contract worth $495,000.

Chapas, 26, signed a reserve/futures contract with Jacksonville back in last December. He hasn’t appeared in a game since 2012 when he was with the Lions.
