Jaguars Sign CB Brian Dixon, Place WR Bryan Walters On I.R.

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Monday that they’ve signed CB Brian Dixon to a contract and placed WR Bryan Walters on injured reserve with a foot injury.

Dixon, 27, originally signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2014. He was on and off of their roster for three seasons before the Cardinals signed him off of the Saints’ practice squad last December.

Dixon was in the final year of his contract and set to make a base salary of $690,000 for the 2017 season when the Cardinals waived him a few weeks ago.

In 2016, Dixon appeared in five games and recorded two tackles for the Saints and Cardinals.

Walters, 29, originally signed on with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Cornell back in 2010. He lasted two years in San Diego before bouncing around with a few teams including the Vikings and Seahawks.

The Jaguars later signed him to a contract as an unrestricted free agent in March of 2015 and re-signed him this past March to a one-year contract.

In 2016, Walters appeared in 10 games for the Jaguars and caught 24 passes for 231 yards receiving and two touchdowns. He also contributed as a kick and punt returner.
