Jaguars Sign Former Vikings RB Joe Banyard To Practice Squad

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that the Jaguars have signed RB Joe Banyard to their practice squad, and released DB Craig Loston to make room for him.

Banyard, 26, originally signed on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of UTEP back in 2012. He lasted just a month in Jacksonville before he briefly joined the Saints. The Vikings wound later sign him to their practice squad during the 2012 season.

Banyard was on and off of the Vikings’ practice squad for much of his time in Minnesota. However, the Vikings ultimately elected to release him at the start of the regular season.

In 2014, Banyard ran for 88 yards on 21 carries (5.9 YPC) to go along with nine receptions for 62 yards receiving over the course of 15 games.
