Jaguars Sign Four Players To Futures Deals

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Monday that they’ve signed four players to futures contracts including OL K.C. McDermott, TE Pharoah McKever, LS Christian Kuntz and WR C.J. Board.

Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.

Board, 24, originally signed a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent out of Chattanooga back in May of last year. He was cut loose by Baltimore coming out of the preseason.

Board had a brief stint with the Titans last year before eventually signing on to the Browns’ practice squad. Cleveland brought him back on a futures contract only to release him at the start of the regular season with an injury designation.

Jacksonville would later waive him from injured reserve with a settlement before adding him to their practice squad a few weeks ago.

During his college career at Chattanooga, Board caught 146 passes for 2,032 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns over the course of 51 games. He also totaled 438 punt return yards and 147 kick return yards during his four-year career.

Kuntz, 24, originally signed on with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Duquesne back in 2017. He lasted just a few days in New England before he was waived at the start of the regular season.

The Broncos later signed Kuntz to a contract this past March, but he was cut loose in June. Kuntz signed on to the Jaguars’ practice squad a few weeks ago.

During his college career at Duquesne, Kuntz played linebacker and recorded 64 tackles, 11.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and a recovery.
