Jaguars Sign RB Delone Carter, Place RB Justin Forsett On IR

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced the signing of former Colts RB Delone Carter on Monday.

  • To make room for Carter, the Jaguars placed RB Justin ForsettĀ on the season-ending injured reserve.

Carter, 26, spent two seasons with the Colts before joining the Baltimore Ravens. He only lasted just a few weeks with the team before getting start at the start of the regular season.

During his time inĀ Indianapolis,Ā CarterĀ rushed for 499Ā totalĀ yards on 133 carries and added five touchdowns.

As forĀ Forsett, he broke a bone in his foot back in Week 12, so it’s really not all that shocking that his season has come to and end.Ā Forsett totaledĀ 31 yards on the ground and 15 receptions for 82 yards in nine games this season. He is under contract for the 2014 season, but that could always change in the coming months.

This is just another indication thatĀ Maurice Jones-Drew‘s Week 15 injury is concerning enough that he could be held out.Ā Carter’s addition will likely be to provide depth behindĀ Jordan TodmanĀ andĀ Denard Robinson.
