Jaguars Sign S Sherrod Martin

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that the Jaguars have re-signed S Sherrod Martin to a contract.

Martin, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Panthers back in 2009. He spent the first four years of his career with Carolina before signing a future/reserve contract with the Jaguars last December.  Unfortunately, Martin was among the Jaguars final roster cuts.

He hasn’t played in an NFL game since 2012 when he appeared in 12 games and recorded 23 tackles, a forced fumble and three pass defenses.

Martin sat out the 2013 season after he tore his ACL and MCL in December of 2012.
