Jaguars Signing OT Ereck Flowers, Placing OT Josh Wells On IR

The Jaguars are signing OT Ereck Flowers on Friday and placing OT Josh Wells on injured reserve, according to Phillip Heilman.

Ian Rapoport says that Wells is dealing with a groin injury, but he’s a candidate to return later on in the season.

Jacksonville hosted Flowers for a visit on Wednesday shortly after he was released and it looks like they managed to hammer out a deal.

Flowers, 24, is a former No. 9 overall pick out of Miami by the Giants in the 2015 NFL Draft. He was the final year of a four-year $14.391 million rookie contract that is fully guaranteed set to earn a base salary of $2,397,522 for 2018 when the Giants waived him on Tuesday.

The Giants declined to pick up Flowers’ fifth-year option back in May.

In 2018, Flowers has appeared in two games for the Giants.
