Jaguars Sign QB Jeff Tuel To Practice Squad

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that the Jaguars are signing QB Jeff Tuel to a contract on Tuesday.

  • Adam Caplan clarifies that the Jaguars are signing Tuel to their practice squad.

This is an interesting move for the Jaguars, given that Blake Bortles has been diagnosed with a sprained shoulder, and his status for Week 6 is in question.

Tuel, 24, originally signed on with the Bills as an undrafted free agent out of Washington State back in April of 2013. Buffalo later waived a few weeks after this year’s NFL Draft, but he wound up being claimed off of waivers by the Jaguars.

Unfortunately for Tuel, he was unable to make the team coming out of the preseason, but it appears as though he was on the emergency call list if they were to sustain an injury at quarterback.

In 2014, Tuel threw for 309 yards while completing 44.1 percent of his passes to go along with one touchdown and three interceptions.
