Jaguars Still Have No Plans To Cut WR Justin Blackmon Despite 3rd Arrest

Speaking to reporters Thursday, Jaguars owner Shad Khan mentioned that they have no plans to cut WR Justin Blackmon, despite being arrested for a third time Wednesday night, per Mark Long.

Blackmon was arrested in Edmond, Oklahoma Wednesday night for possession of marijuana.

According to the report, Blackmon was stopped for a traffic violation when officers smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the car. After searching the vehicle, the police did in fact find marijuana, which led to Blackmon being taken into custody.

Blackmon is already suspended indefinitely from the NFL, but the Jaguars have maintained that they are treating the former first-round pick as a luxury moving forward. He could end up having a difficult time getting reinstated by the league, but that is still a ways away.

Jacksonville has at least prepared for the possibility that Blackmon won’t be back with them as they used two second-round picks on USC WR Marquise Lee and Penn State WR Allen Robinson this year.

Blackmon appeared in only four games last season, registering 29 catches for 415 yards, with one touchdown.
