Lions Trade A Fifth-Round Pick To The Jaguars For WR Mike Thomas, More Moves Could Be Coming

Jason La Canfora reports that the Lions sent a fifth-round pick to the Jaguars in return for WR Mike Thomas. La Canfora adds that the Lions are still looking to make more moves before Thursday’s deadline.

Reports from earlier in the day suggested that they’re looking to add a veteran safety, so that could be their next move.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL.com reports that sources have informed him that the Jacksonville Jaguars have traded WR Mike Thomas to the Detroit Lions.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Jaguars received a “mid-round pick” from the Lions.

This trade came out of nowhere. The Lions recently lost Nate Burleson for the season after he broke his leg, but it seemed as though they would move forward with Titus Young and Ryan Broyles. Thomas is expected to play in the slot for Detroit, but there’s no guarantee that he’ll play over Broyles.

We’ll have more updates as the news becomes available.
