Jaguars Waive CB Charles Gaines From I.R. With Injury Settlement

The Jacksonville Jaguars have waived CB Charles Gaines from injured reserve with an injury settlement on Friday, according to Mike Kaye.

Gaines, 24, is a former fifth-round pick of the Browns back in 2015. He was in the second year of his four-year, $2,402,136 contract when the Browns elected to cut him loose coming out of the preseason last year.

The Bills later added Gaines to their practice squad toward the end of the season before waiving a few weeks after this year’s draft. Gaines later signed on with the Jaguars, but was waived with an injury designation this past weekend.

In 2015, Gaines appeared in five games for the Browns and recorded 15 tackles, a forced fumble, and two pass defenses.
