Jaguars Waive QB Matt Scott

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced that they have waived QB Matt Scott on Thursday.

  • The also announced that they have invited several players to work out for them this week including G Antoine Caldwell, WR Greg Childs, and DT Brian Price.

Scott signed a reserve/future contract with the Jaguars back in December, but their plans have obviously changed now that they have draft Blake Bortles and signed Miami QB Stephen Morris as an undrafted free agent.

Scott had some buzz around him being an intriguing developmental prospect coming out of Arizona last year, but he wound up going undrafted and was apparently deemed to be expendable. It would’t be surprising to see him catch on with another team in the coming weeks.
