The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Saturday that they’ve placed WR Arrelious Benn has been placed on injured reserve and waived DT Sheldon Day and WR Jaelen Strong.

  • The Jaguars also promoted WR Larry Pinkard to their active roster.

Strong, 23, was taken in the third round of the 2015 NFL draft by the Texans. He’s in the third year of his four-year, $3.281 million rookie contract that included $820,338 guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $615,000 (2017), and $705,000 (2018) over the remainder of the contract.

The Texans waived Strong coming out of the preseason before he was claimed off of waivers by the Jaguars.

In 2017, Strong has been active for one game but has yet to record a statistic.

Benn, 29, is a former second-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2010. He spent three years with the Bucs before he traded to the Eagles back in 2013.

In 2017, Benn appeared in nine games for the Jaguars and caught one pass for 12 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
