Jaguars Waive WR Jaelen Strong

Mike Kaye of First Coast News reports that the Jaguars have placed WR Jaelen Strong on waivers Monday.

Strong, unfortunately, suffered a torn ACL towards the end of last season, so he’s still working his way back from this injury.

Strong, 24, was taken in the third round of the 2015 NFL draft by the Texans. The Texans waived Strong coming out of the preseason last year before he was claimed off of waivers by the Jaguars.

Jacksonville elected to waive Strong last month and later re-signed him to their practice squad before eventually calling him up.

Strong is in the final year of his four-year, $3.281 million rookie contract that included $820,338 guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $705,000 for the 2018 season.

In 2017, Strong appeared in two games for the Jaguars and caught three passes for 38 yards receiving and one touchdown.
