Jaguars Waive WR Tavarres King, Promote CB Peyton Thompson

The Jaguars have waived WR Tavarres King and replaced him on their 53-man roster with CB Peyton Thompson, according to Ryan O’Halloran.

Jacksonville signed King off of the Panthers’ practice squad over a month ago, but he has yet to be active for a single game this season.

There’s a chance that he could end up on the Jaguars’ practice squad in the coming days, as long as no one places a waiver claim for him.

King, 24, was selected in the fifth round by the Broncos last year. However, he was unable to make the final 53-man roster coming out of the preseason and later ended up on their practice squad.

Denver placed King on waivers in October and the Panthers wound up claiming him a few days later.

As or Thompson, he signed on with the Falcons back in 2012 and was later added to their practice squad. Washington signed him to a future/reserve contract last December, but he was later waived in earlier August.

The Bears signed him to a contract a few weeks later, but he was cut after just six days with the team.
