Jaguars Waive/Injured Josh Johnson, Sign TE David Grinnage

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Monday that they’ve signed TE David Grinnage and waived CB Josh Johnson with an injury designation.

  • The Jaguars also signed CB Dwayne Thomas and waived Ezra Robinson.

Should Johnson pass through waivers unclaimed, he would revert to the team’s injured reserve list on Tuesday.

Johnson, 25, wound up signing on with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Purdue back in 2013. However, he lasted just a few months in San Diego before he was released at the start of the 2013 season.

Johnson later signed on with the BC Lions of the CFL in 2014 before joining the Jaguars in February of last year.

In 2016, Johnson appeared in eight games and recorded nine tackles, a half sack and a pass defense.
