Jamaal Charles Expects To Be Cleared For Training Camp

Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles guaranteed reporters that he’ll be medically cleared in time for the start of the teams training camp.

“When they let that cape off me, I’m ready to go,” said Charlers, via the Kansas City Star. “I’m ready to put my cleats back on and punish everybody in my way.”

Charles even mentioned that he could “play in a game today.”

While I’m sure the Chiefs are happy to hear that he’s recovering quite well from his ACL surgery, I doubt that they’re going to push Charles during training camp until he proves that he’s very close to 100 percent. Peyton Hillis should be a pretty decent compliment to their running game, but relying on him to carry the workload would leave them in a very precarious position for the second straight year.
