James Harrison Announces His Retirement From The NFL

Former Steelers and Bengals OLB James Harrison announced his retirement from the NFL Saturday.

The Cardinals brought Harrison in for a visit on Friday, so it appears as though the meeting was enough to change his mind about pursuing another opportunity for the 2014 season.

Harrison, 36, was deemed expendable by Cincinnati after playing the first year of a two-year deal, registering 31 tackles, two sacks, one interception and a fumble recovery over the course of 15 games.

He graded out as the No. 9 outside linebacker in 4-3 scheme last year, according to Pro Football Focus.

Harrison is a former undrafted free agent who went on to have a spectacular 11-year NFL career. He recorded 472 tackles, 66 sacks, six interceptions, 29 forced fumbles and nine recoveries.
