Harrison, 35, signed a two-year contract worth $4.45 million that included a $1.2 million signing bonus with the Bengals last April. He had a base salary of $1.1 million to go along with $250,000 in per-game roster bonuses coming his way in 2014.
According to OvertheCap.com, Harrison’s 2014 cap figure was $2,034,375 million. The Bengals will save $1,434,375 million by releasing him.
Last year, he appeared in 15 games totaling 31 tackles, two sacks, an interception and a fumble recovery. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 9 outside linebacker in a 4-3 defense in 2013.
