James Jones Would Like To Re-Sign With Packers, But Has Considered Colts & Chargers

Packers free agent WR James Jones told NFL.com Tuesday that he is still hoping to be back in Green Bay next year.

“Honestly, I feel that there is a chance that I can be back and then I honestly feel that there’s a chance that I can’t,” Jones said. “This is the time where you just kind of wish that something would happen so you can know where you’re going.”

However, Jones also mentioned that he has considered playing for the Colts and Chargers, depending on how things play out with the Packers.

“I’ve thought about places that I would like to go play, whether it’s in Indy or there’s coming back home, San Diego or somewhere,” Jones said “Teams have popped up in my head. I can’t say I haven’t thought about it, but in a perfect world I’d love to go back (to Green Bay).

Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported a few weeks ago that the Packers have not extended Jones a contract offer as of yet and aren’t likely to do so in the coming months.

Jones agent, Frank Bauer, mentioned that; “I don’t think Ted Thompson wants him.

Jones, 29, has been a consistent receiver for the Packers in recent years and was able to produce a staggering 14 touchdowns two years ago. In 2013, Jones caught 59 passes for 817 yards and 3 touchdowns.

We have him listed as the No. 61 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
