Jason Babin Signs With The Eagles

Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer reports that the Philadelphia Eagles have signed DE Jason Babin to a five-year, $28 million contract which will include $5-6 million in guarantees.

As we wrote yesterday, it would have been a surprise if Babin didn’t sign with the Eagles considering his admiration for defensive line coach Jim Washburn who had left the Titans for the Eagles job. With that said there still were a number of teams considering Babin but Philadelphia was probably his best option.

At 30 there are some questions about what they’re getting in return for a guy who is coming off of his only season in which he had more than 5 sacks. This is why we rated him as the No. 41 overall free agent in this years class. I’m sure he contribute to the Eagles but the question for how long and how much.
