Jason Smith Not The Answer At RT For St. Louis Rams?

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Rams General Manager Les Snead is unsure of whether or not Jason Smith is their long-term answer at the right-tackle position.

When you get picked high (second overall), and you’ve been inconsistent or you’ve been injured, you’re going to get scrutinized,” Snead said. “But here’s what I do know; you’ve got a really good offensive line coach (Paul Boudreau) who’s proven he can make a unit’s sum better than its parts. … He’s also proved he can get the most out of an individual.”

“Long story short, I think Jason Smith‘s going to have every chance to improve here under Paul.”

Pro Football Focus rankEd Smith 41st in the league in 2011 in pass blocking efficiency, surrendering two sacks, two hits and 11 hurries on his 201 snaps played in pass protection.
