Jay Cutler Out For The Bears

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Chicago Bears will be without Jay Cutler for Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers. The team has decided to go with Todd Collins as their starting quarterback. Collins will become the eighth starting quarterback for the Bears while under head coach Lovie Smith.

The news is no doubt surprising to Bears fans given that it was reported earlier in the week that Cutler was already participating in team meeting on Monday following week 4’s loss to the New York Giants.

Cutler left Sunday’s game with a concussion after getting sacked nine times during the first half. Todd Collins was brought in lead the offense but struggled to move the ball and looked out of sink in the Bears offense. Collins was later knocked out of the game and replaced by third-string quarterback Caleb Haine. The last time Collins started an NFL  game was back in 2007 when he was with the Washington Redskins.

Mike Martz will have to get creative if he’s plans on moving the ball against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
