ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reports that the Miami Dolphins will meet with Jeff Fisher this morning.
Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald writes that this is likely more of a courtship than just a typical interview as owner Stephen Ross brought Fisher in by helicopter.
“This interview is interesting. It frankly promises to be more of a sell-job or recruiting mission than an interview,” Salguero writes. “After all, are Ross or Jeff Ireland seriously going to interrogate Fisher as to his defensive strategies? They would never balk at anything he tells them.”
Salguero adds that Miami should employ a similar strategy to the one they used with Jim Harbaugh last year which is basically offer him a godfather deal.
Reports have already suggested that Fisher could sign with the Rams in the coming days but he’s apparently shopping around to see what’s available. The Colts and Buccaneers could also be possibilities but we’ll have to see how things go with the Dolphins today before saying anything for certain.
