Jeremy Lane Fails Physical, Seahawks & Texans Amend Trade For Duane Brown

Veteran CB Jeremy Lane failed his physical on Tuesday, so the Seahawks and Texans have agreed to amend their deal.

According to John McClain, the Texans will trade LT Duane Brown and a 2018 fifth-round pick to the Seahawks for a 2018 third- and a 2019 second-round pick.

Lane will return to the Seahawks.

The prior deal called for the Seahawks to trade Lane, a 2018 fifth-round pick and a 2019 second-round pick for Brown.

Lane, 27, is a former sixth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2012. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $23 million contract that included $11 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $4 million and $6 million over the next two years of the agrement.

In 2017, Lane has appeared in five games and recorded nine tackles and no interceptions.

Brown, 31, is a former first-round pick of the Texans back in 2008. He’s currently in the sixth year of his seven-year, $56.2 million contract that includes $22.08 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $9.65 million and $9.75 million over the next two years.

Brown skipped all of training camp and summer workouts and then held out of the first eight weeks of the season for a new contract. However, the Texans never gave in and he ultimately reported to the team last week.

In 2017, Brown has appeared in one game for the Texans.
