Jeremy Maclin Ruled Out For Week 3

Eagles head coach Andy Reid announced that WR Jeremy Maclin, WR Riley Cooper and LT King Dunlap have all been ruled out for the Week 3 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.

Even though Maclin was able to join his teammates on a very limited basis yesterday, it never seemed like he really had a shot at playing this weekend. This will end up being a topic that we’ll be covering next week.

Eagles head coach Andy Reid mentioned that Jeremy Maclin would not be risking further injury by suiting up this weekend, but he admits that it has more to do with Maclin pain tolerance.

Jeremy actually had a good day yesterday, and he got treatment today, so we’ll just see,” Reid said, via Philadelphia Inquirer & Daily News.

According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, he would be surprised to see Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin play against the Arizona Cardinals this weekend.

Maclin wound up re-injuring his hip last week, so it probably makes sense for them to sit him, rather than risk further injury. Philadelphia would have to rely on undrafted rookie Damaris Johnson with him out. There is still some time for Maclin to recover, so a final decision may not come until hours before the start of the game.
