Jeremy Maclin’s Visit With Bills Ends, Will Meet With Ravens Next

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that free agent WR Jeremy Maclin has concluded his visit with the Bills on Wednesday and is now traveling to Baltimore to meet with the Ravens.

The plan all along was for Maclin to visit with the Ravens once his meeting with the Bills was over, so this shouldn’t come as a big surprise.

The Ravens picked up some cap space today by releasing TE Dennis Pitta, but they’re also in contact with the Jets about a potential trade for WR Eric Decker, so they clearly have options.

It will be interesting to see if any of the other teams linked to Maclin such as the Browns and Eagles line up visits with him in the coming days.

Maclin, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Eagles back in 2009. He spent five years with the Eagles before signing a five-year, $55 million contract that included $22.5 million guaranteed with the Chiefs in 2015.

Maclin was set to make a base salary of $9.75 million for the 2017 season when the Chiefs released him in a move that freed up $10 million of available cap space last week.

In 2016, Maclin appeared in 12 games and caught 44 passes for 536 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 78 receiver out of 115 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
