Jericho Cotchery’s Options

Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times reported yesterday that the Baltimore Ravens will be meeting with free agent wide receiver Jericho Cotchery today. Jamison Hensley of the Baltimore Sun wrote yesterday that the Ravens were not going to be aggressively pursuing Cotchery but that could change but this afternoon depending on how it goes.

Baltimore was considering Malcom Floyd but he would have given them a taller option at wide receiver while Cotchery brings a similar skill set to the receivers that they currently have.

John Glennon of the Tennessean was able to get Titans GM Mike Reinfeldt to comment on the idea of Cotchery signing with the team.

I still think we’d like to do a veteran wide receiver,” Reinfeldt said. “[Cotchery’s] someone that’s interesting for us. He’s been productive and a good player with a good team.”

Cotchery visited the Pittsburgh Steelers yesterday but nothing appears to be imminent between then considering that the Steelers would most likely be offering the veteran minimum and limited playing time.
