Jermichael Finley Has “99.9%” Chance Of A Full Recovery

Jermichael Finley‘s agent, Blake Baratz, recently mentioned that the doctor who performed Finley’s fusion surgery said that he will have a “99.9%” chance of a full recover.

Baratz mentioned that the current expectation for Finley is that he will be medically cleared to play football in the next 4-8 weeks.

“In some players, it takes four weeks while in others in can six months or longer,” Baratz said, via The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “In Jermichael’s case because of how he has developed and (how) his initial X-Ray looked, Dr. Maroon believes sometime in the next 4-8 weeks his should fully heal.

According to Baratz, Finley wants to continue playing in the NFL and added that “this isn’t a reckless stab at wanting to play football again.

“He wants to play because this is his livelihood and what he has worked so hard for his entire life,” he said. “He’s only 26 years old and isn’t ready for the next chapter of his life yet. If that decision is forced upon him, then he understands. We adjust and we move forward. He’s working out and rehabbing almost six hours per day with a group of experts to ensure that he stays in the best shape possible.”

Baratz expects to meet with the Packers to discuss the possibility of Finley returning to Green Bay, but it appears as though the Packers could elect to move on during free agency as they were not willing to keep S Nick Collins after he underwent a similar procedure a few years ago.

Finley, 26, figures to be one of the more intriguing unrestricted free agents to watch this offseason. He’s already made it known that he has no intention of taking a reduced salary, despite concerns regarding his future health.

We have Finley tentatively listed as the No. 69 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
