Jermichael Finley Could Be In For A Big Night Against The Bears

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers seemed to suggest that TE Jermichael Finley will be one of the focal points of their offensive attack against the Bears.

When you’ve got a big body running down the seams with a large margin of error for the throw because of his range and his hands, it gives you a lot of confidence,” Rodgers said, via 540 ESPN. “Jermichael, confidence-wise, is very high. We have a lot of confidence in him and just have to find ways to get him the ball.”

Last week, Rodgers looked Finley’s way 11 times, which lead the team in targets. During their first meeting against the Bears last year, Finley posted his best game of the entire season when he caught 7 passes for 85 yards and 3 touchdowns. Green Bay has had Finley working the middle of the field for the most part, which is probably a good idea, considering that Brian Urlacher is dealing with a knee injury that seemed to limit his lateral mobility. The fact that Greg Jennings remains a question mark for tonight’s game, also suggests that the Packers will have to prepare someone else to handle an increased workload if needed.
