Jermichael Finley Expects To Be Cleared For Contact In 3-4 Weeks

Pro Football Talk spoke with Packers TE Jermichael Finley on Friday who mentioned that his doctor is “99.9 percent certain” that he will be cleared for contact in the next 3-4 weeks.

This is obvious great news for Finley seeing as his injury could have been career-ending given that it required a spinal fusion procedure.

Finley, 26, will be an unrestricted free agent in the coming weeks and has said that he has no intention of taking a reduced salary, despite concerns regarding his future health.

It will be interesting to see what the Packers elect to do regarding Finley given that they don’t have a clear-cut replacement on their roster.

It’s not often that quality young tight ends are available, but his fusion surgery will most likely be a concern that could force him to sign a one-year incentive based contract, even though he expects to sign a long-term contract.
