McGinn specifically states that Finley “is at least two months away and maybe several months more from being in position to sign with a team.”
Finley, 26, visited the Seahawks earlier in the month but left without a contract likely due to the fact that general manager John Schneider believes the injury needs additional healing. McGinn states that this opinion “will circulate among teams because they were the first club Finley visited.”
If this report holds true, Finley could be back in May at the earliest. Finley is one of the most physically gifted tight ends in the league when he is healthy, so it will be interesting to see if he still has the same abilities returning from such a serious injury.
