Jermichael Finley Points To Lack Of Chemistry With Aaron Rodgers As Reason For Struggles

Packers TE Jermichael Finley pointed a lack of chemistry with Aaron Rodgers as the reason why he’s struggled again this season.

“Not good enough at all,” said Finley, via Fox Sports Wisconsin. “Something to be worked on, and try to work on it as much as I can, try to talk to him as much as I can, but like I said, it takes two people.”

During the preseason, Finley mentioned that this was an issue for them last year, so it’s interesting that he would reiterate this concern.

The Packers offense has not played anywhere near the level in which they were operating at last season, but the fact that Finley continues to drop passes makes it hard to evenly distribute the blame. Yes, Aaron Rodgers hasn’t played up to expectations this season, but Finley has never put together a dominate season that the many believed he was capable of.

Green Bay re-signed him to a two-year deal back in February, which is most likely buys them some extra time evaluate whether or not Finely is worth committing to in the long run. Considering the big names that they still have to address in the coming years, (Rodgers, Clay Matthews, B.J. Raji and Greg Jennings) there’s actually a chance that they could elect to move on without him.

Finley is expected to be a game-time decision against the Houston Texans on Sunday.
