Jerry Jones Agrees To Reimburse NFL For $2M Of Legal Fees

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones agreed to reimburse the NFL for more than $2 million in legal fees incurred by league owners.

The NFL released the following statement regarding Wednesday’s resolution:

“After a hearing with the Commissioner and the Finance Committee, the matter of the reimbursement of legal fees has been resolved to the satisfaction of all parties.

The two parties met Wednesday and managed to put this matter behind them.

Last year, Jones went as far as hiring lawyer David Boies to sue the six owners on the league’s compensation committee negotiating commissioner Roger Goodell’s contract. Beyond that, Jones lobbied for Ezekiel Elliott to not be suspended and attempted to influence league officials deciding his case, according to one report.
