Jets & 49ers Reportedly “Pondering” A Trade Up For A Receiver

Ian RapoportĀ of the NFL Network reports that the 49ers and Jets are both “pondering” a potential trade up for a wide receiver.

Rapoport specifically mentions that LSU’s Odell Beckham Jr, Oregon State’s Brandin Cooks and USC’s Marquise Lee as the three prospects who are likely being considered by both teams.

The 49ers have previously come up as a team to watch in regards to moving up for a receiver, so this shouldn’t come as a huge surprise, especially when you consider all of the draft picks they have at their disposal this year.

Rapoport adds that San Francisco is more likely to trade up into the teens, than in the top-five, which was previously suggested.

I’m sure the Jets would love to have their pick of these receivers, but it would probably make more sense to wait it out and see who ends up being available to them at No. 18 overall.

There really has been a great deal of buzz regarding Beckham Jr in recent weeks. We’ve heard that he could be on the radar of teams like Lions, Cowboys and Steelers, all of whom are drafting ahead of the Jets and 49ers.

We have the Rams taking Odell Beckham Jr at No. 13 overall in our recently updatedĀ 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
