Jets A “Logical Landing Spot” For Matt Flynn?

Rich Cimini of ESPN New York believes that the New York Jets would be a “logical landing spot” for Seahawks quarterback Matt Flynn if he were to be traded.

The Jets recently added Marty Mornhinweg as their new offensive coordinator, which led to some speculation that Michael Vick could follow him to New York. It’s hard to say just how plausibly that scenario is given the Jets cap situation and the fact that Vick is still under contract with the Eagles.

Seattle is reportedly willing to trade shop Flynn around the league in the coming months, so the Jets could be option given that new GM John Idzik actually negotiated Flynn’s contract and the fact that Mornhinweg runs a west coast offense.

Still, New York would have to create some cap space given that Flynn will make $5.25 million next season. It’s at least an interesting idea, but we’ll have to see what the Jets plans are for their quarterback position before knowing whether or not it’s even option.
