Jets Among Teams To Inquire About Free Agent RT Jermey Parnell

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that the Jets have inquired about Cowboys free agent RT Jermey Parnell in recent days.

  • Mehta considers Parnell a “very interesting name” for the Jets.

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reported yesterday Parnell will do well in free agency and listed the Buccaneers, Jaguars, and Redskins as teams with interest in him.

The offensive tackle market was already limited heading into this weekend, but it’s gotten even more so now that the Cowboys have locked up RT Doug Free and the Texans brought back Derek Newton.

Indications have been that Parnell was likely to reach the open market, and given that available cap space from teams around the league, it would not be surprising to see him land a sizable contract when all is said and done

Parnell, 28, has played out his four-year, $4.63 million rookie contract and is now in line for a sizable raise for the 2015 season. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 21 offensive tackles in the league out of 84 qualifying players.

We have Parnell listed as the No. 30 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
