Jets Bringing In DT Steve McLendon For A Visit

Dom Cosentino of NJ.com, citing two people with knowledge of the situation, reports that the Jets are bringing in free agent DT Steve McLendon for a visit on Monday.

This comes less than a week after the Jets lost DT Damon Harrison to the Giants, who gave him a big-money contract.

McLendon, 30, wound up signing on with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent out of Troy back in 2010. He signed a three-year contract extension with the team during the 2013 offseason and is now testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time.

In 2015, McLendon appeared in all 16 games for the Steelers and recoded 14 tackles, a sack and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 91 interior defensive lineman out of 123 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 2016 Free Agents list.
