Jets Bringing In QB Chase Daniel For Visit

Adam Schefter reports that the Jets are bringing in free agent QB Chase Daniel for a visit on  Monday.

The market appears to be picking up for Daniel, as he recently met with the Saints.

While Daniel spent a few years in New Orleans as Drew Brees‘ backup, the Jets could offer him the ability to compete for a starting job this summer, which is something he’s reportedly been looking for.

Daniel, 30, originally signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Missouri back in 2010. He spent three years in New Orleans before signing on with the Chiefs in 2013.

After another three years in Kansas City, Daniels signed a three-year, $21 million contract that included $12 million guaranteed with the Eagles last year. However, the Eagles released Daniel last week in a move that freed up $6 million of available cap space.

In 2016, Daniel appeared in one game for the Eagles and completed one pass for 16 yards.
