Jets CB Darrelle Revis Still Considering A Holdout

Jets CB Darrelle Revis mentioned that he’s still unsure of whether or not he’ll be reporting to the team’s training camp in the coming weeks.

“I don’t know. That’s up to (GM) Mike Tannenbaum,” said Revis when asked if he plans on reporting to camp on time, via the Timesonline.com. “I really don’t know.”

Revis still has two years remaining on his contract which will pay him $13.5 million during this time. New York has said that they have no interest in renegotiating a new deal, but not having Revis in camp could have an impact on the team.

While Revis is arguably the best cornerback in the league, it’s not as those he’s vastly under paid. Holding out makes sense for someone like Matt Forte who may not have an opportunity to secure a long-term contract past this season. Revis should honor his contract considering that he’ll still be able to land another sizable deal in a few years.
