Jets Claim K Jason Myers Off Waivers From Seahawks, Waive/Injured WR Jonah Trinnaman

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Jets have claimed K Jason Myers off of waivers from the Seahawks on Tuesday.

The Jets also waived WR Jonah Trinnaman with an injury designation.

Myers, 27, wound up signing on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent back in 2015 and has managed to make the team the past three seasons. He was in the final year of his three-year, $1.575 million contract and set to make a base salary of $615,000 for the 2017 season when the Jaguars waived last year.

The Seahawks signed Myers to a futures contract this past January, but was placed on waivers Monday.

In 2017, Myers has appeared in six games and converted 11 of 15 field goal attempts (73.3 percent) to go along with 15 of 17 extra point tries (88.2 percent).
