Jets Claim RB Knile Davis Off Waivers From Packers

The New York Jets have claimed RB Knile Davis off of waivers from the Packers on Tuesday, according to his agent.

Davis, 25, is a former third-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2013. He’s in the final year if his four-year, $2.751 million rookie contract and stands to make a base salary of $675,000 for the 2016 season.

The Chiefs traded Davis to the Packers a few weeks for a conditional 2018 seventh-round draft pick. However, Green Bay elected to cut him loose on Monday.

This comes just a few weeks after the Packers sent a conditional 2018 seventh-round draft pick to the Chiefs for Davis.

In 2016, Davis has appeared in six games and ran for three yards on six carries to go along with four receptions for 18 yards receiving and no touchdowns for the Chiefs. Davis has added 126 kick return yards.
