Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Jets have claimed WR KD Cannon off of waivers from the 49ers on Tuesday.
Cannon, 21, signed on with the 49ers as a priority free agent out of Baylor shortly after this year’s draft. The 49ers actually gave Cannon a $45,000 signing bonus as part of his deal.
However, San Francisco somewhat surprisingly elected to move on from him after just a few days.
It’s worth mentioning that the 49ers end up paying Cannon just $5,000 while the Jets take on the rest of his salary.
During his three-year college career at Baylor, Cannon recorded 195 receptions for 3,113 yards receiving and 27 touchdowns. He also totaled three rushing attempts for 14 rushing yards (4.7 YPC).
