Jets Considering Trades To Clear Cap Space?

According to Dan Pompei of the National Football Post, the Jets may end up having to “trade a player or two” to clear some extra cap space.

Pompei mentions that they’ll consider trading some of their “lower level players” which should afford them some “maneuverability” come draft day.

There was talk previously that the Jets were shopping RT Wayne Hunter around the league, but it’s really not surprising that another team didn’t bite on of the worst tackles in the game, who just happens to be on the books for $2.45 million next season. If the Jets are able to move him, it would be pretty impressive, but they could always release him too if they need the cap space.

We recently updated all 32 teams’ Cap Space and the Jets supposedly have $7.8 million available to them.
