Jets Cut WR Lucky Whitehead & DE Corey Lemonier From IR With Settlements

The New York Jets officially cut WR Lucky Whitehead and DE Corey Lemonier from injured reserve with settlements on Monday.

The Cowboys elected to move on from Whitehead, even though he had all charges against him dropped and the warrant for his arrest was rescinded in a legal matter that turned out to be a case of mistaken identity.

The Jets later claimed him off of waivers. Unfortunately, he was waived with an injury designation and later reverted to injured reserve.

Whitehead, 25, signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Florida Atlantic back in 2015. He’s currently in the final year of his three-year, $1.585 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $615,000 for the 2017 season.

In 2016, Whitehead appeared in 15 games and caught three passes for 48 yards receiving and no touchdowns. He also rushed for 82 yards on 10 carries to go along with 394 kick return yards and
