Jets Expected To Have Interest In Signing RB Travaris Cadet

According to Aaron Wilson, the Jets are, once again, expected to have interest in signing veteran RB Travaris Cadet after he’s officially released.

New York previously expressed interest in Cadet during free agency, but he ultimately returned to the Saints back in March.

New Orleans was reportedly shopping Cadet around, but it appears as though no deal surfaced.

Cadet, 28, originally signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Appalachian State back in 2012. He spent three years in New Orleans before he was allowed to test the open market in 2015.

The Patriots elected to sign Cadet to a two-year contract worth $1.75 million. Unfortunately, they cut him loose during the season. The 49ers later signed him to a contract after they lost Carlos Hyde for the season, but was waived towards the end of the year and later claimed off of waivers by the Saints.

Cadet returned to New Orleans on one-year deals each of the past two seasons.

In 2016, Cadet appeared in 15 games and rushed 19 yards on four carries (4.8 YPC) to go along with 40 receptions for 281 yards receiving and four touchdowns. He also contributed 144 kick return yards.
