Jets Re-Sign LB Erin Henderson To A Two-Year, $5M Deal

Dom Cosentino of NJ.com reports that the Jets are expected to re-sign LB Erin Henderson to a two-year deal worth up $5 million.

  • According to Cosentino, Henderson’s deal including $750,000 in guarantees.

The Jets previously expressed interest in signing him to an extension months ago, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise. A report from a few weeks ago mentioned that the Raiders had some interest in him as well, but it appears as though he felt a return to New York was in his best interest.

Henderson, 29, originally signed on with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent back in 2008. He spent six years in Minnesota before signing on with the Jets as an unrestricted free agent in April of last year.

In 2015, Henderson appeared in all 16 games for the Jets and recorded 44 tackles and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has Henderson down for playing 232 total snaps for the Jets to go along with a solid rating of 7.8 in run defense.
